I just saw an Instagram page on my discover feed of a 2 year old “ballerina” who has been “training” “ballet” for a year.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE.
Her Instagram bio is “started ballet a year ago at 13 months and is completely obsessed. Brand ambassador for Bittyrina”
I don’t know why but this has made me really angry lol.
I’m supposed to be sleeping! Woke up at 3am to drink a glass of water and pee but made the mistake to take my phone to the loo and now I’m too wound up to go back to sleep.
THESE PARENTS HAVE NOT JUST ROBBED THEIR DAUGHTER OF HER CHILDHOOD (toddlerhood??? Babyhood??) BUT ALSO ME OF A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP.

I guess a small consolation is that it’s not pointe shoes. They’ll probably wait another year before she gets those.
Parents need to not. At all. Ever again.

No! 2 year olds are not serious about ballet and they definitely shouldn’t be doing online classes without an instructor present wtf are they trying to break their child??????
Can she even speak in complete sentences?????
I work with two year olds and the only thing they are serious about is snack time. What is wrong with these parents?!
Meet the Australian teen hoping to be the world’s first Muslim pro ballerina
Stephanie Kurlow is not your average teenage girl with a dream of ballet stardom. For one, she’ll never be a “bunhead.” The 14-year-old Australian is Muslim, making her one of the most prominent hijab-clad ballet dancers around, and she refuses to let her faith get in the way of her life’s goal: to dance professionally. And you can help her achieve that goal.

CADENCE. New Ballet Magazine

Vaganova Ballet Academy has launched a beautiful new publication! “Cadence” is a student magazine, which has been put together with the help of VBA’s Ballet History and Theory faculty (the long-dead faculty that Tsiskaridze re-established upon his appointment in 2013). The content is written entirely by students.

Maria Abashova of Eifman Ballet graces the cover of the magazine’s first issue. The beautiful photo was taken by a very talented emerging ballet photographer, Ekaterina Kravtsova. The publication also features several spreads of Kravtsova’s recent photoshoot with VBA student, Eleonora Sevenard.
